Global Trends in Renewable Energy Investment 2014 is out, published jointly by UNEP, Frankfurt School of Finance and Management and Bloomberg New Energy Finance. According to the report, the total capacity of electricity generated by renewable energy in 2013 grew from 7.8% to 8.5% worldwide. UNEP chief Achim Steiner says in the report “The fact that renewable energy is gaining a bigger share of overall generation globally is encouraging. To support this further, we must re-evaluate investment priorities, shift incentives, build capacity and improve governance structures.”
